Conscious sedation that avoids any discomfort. Laughter gas.
Many people stop looking for a dental treatment because of fear or discomfort, or for even having experienced some negative experience with their dentist, making the treatment stressful and tiring for both parts.
Always thinking about the well-being of the patient, we use Nitrous Oxide for sedation during treatments at Well Clinic. The purpose of its use is to progressively eliminate anxiety and fear, increasing self-confidence and inducing a state of relaxation during the clinical procedure.
Nitrous oxide sedation is what we call conscious sedation; it is inhaled through a mask, which helps the patient to be more relaxed, but not losing consciousness, thus able to react to stimuli. At the end of the appointment, the patient is left for about 5 minutes only on oxygen, totally returning to their conscious state, able to get back to their and being out of danger.
The advantages of sedation with nitrous oxide are diverse and the effect is immediate, controlling fear, self-censorship and anxiety, providing relaxation. But out of all the advantages, the most important is related to safety; sedation with Nitrous Oxide is considered one of the safest procedures in dentistry and can be used even in children.
Nitrous oxide sedation technique is used in countries such as the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Australia for its safe and beneficial use. Additionally, it provides numerous benefits to the patient such as predictability, fast recovery, and relief from stress and anxiety.
